COURSE DESCRIPTION
This is an introductory class in which students will design and create web pages using good
design principles. Students will learn the pros and cons of web page design by evaluating existing web
pages. Let your creative side show with designing and editing software. Create professional, up-to-date
web sites that are pleasing to the eye and easy to navigate using industry standard software.

GRADING
Quarter Grades will be calculated as follows:
Formative Assessments 30%
Summative Assessments 70%
Semester Grades will be calculated as follows:
Third and Fourth Quarter Grade 80%
Semester Exam (cumulative) 20%
All assignments must be completed in order to satisfactorily complete the requirements of this course.
GRADING SCALE
100-98 A+ 79-77 C+
97-93 A 76-73 C
92-90 A- 72-70 C-
89-87 B+ 69-67 D+
86-83 B 66-63 D
82-80 B- 62-60 D-
59 F
TEST RETAKES
Students will be allowed to re-take a test. The following are the guidelines that must be followed in order to be eligible for the re-take.
ACADEMIC DISHONESTY: Plagiarism and cheating are serious offenses and will not be tolerated. They may be punished by failure on exam, paper, or project. This may result in failure of the course.
NEED FOR ASSISTANCE: If you have any condition, such as a physical or learning disability for which you need extra assistance, please see me immediately. - Various handouts from the instructor
- Various web sites
COURSE COMPLETION REQUIREMENTS
- Attend class sessions.
- Read the assigned chapters.
- Complete and hand in assignments on time. When an assignment is complete, proofread it carefully before turning it in. Assignments should be clearly marked with your name and activity label.
- Complete all theory and skill tests as required.
- Complete any supplemental assessments as directed by the instructor.

- Students must have all the homework for the unit turned in.
- Students must have completed and turned in the review sheet for the unit the day of the initial test
- Students must have shown reasonable effort on the original test.
- Students are allowed one re-take to be completed no later than one week after the original test has been graded and returned.
- Students must show evidence they are prepared to take the test again.
- The student will need to make arrangements with the teacher to take the test. All re-takes must be done after school.
