COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course is a continuation of Digital Imaging I. Dive deeper into the tricks and techniques to improve your own digital pictures with Photoshop Elements. Explore filters, frames, and themes. In addition, learn to create photo montages, album pages, cards, brochures, CD/DVD jackets, CD/DVD labels, calendars, and more!

GRADING
Grades will be calculated as follows:
Formative Assessment 30%
(homework, quizzes, participation/in-class assignments, initial drafts)
Summative Assessment 70%
(cumulative photo projects, unit tests, unit projects, final drafts)
Semester Grades will be calculated as follows:
Semester Quarter Grade 80%
Semester Exam (cumulative) 20%
All assignments must be completed in order to satisfactorily complete the requirements of this course.

100-98 A+ 79-77 C+
97-93 A 76-73 C
92-90 A- 72-70 C-
89-87 B+ 69-67 D+
86-83 B 66-63 D
82-80 B- 62-60 D-

TEST RETAKES
Students will be allowed to re-take a test. The following are the guidelines that must be followed in order to be eligible for the re-take.
ACADEMIC DISHONESTY: Plagiarism and cheating are serious offenses and will not be tolerated. They may be punished by failure on exam, paper, or project. This may result in failure of the course.

MATERIALS OF INSTRUCTION
- Picture Yourself Creating with Photoshop Elements, by Koers, Course Technology, 2007
- Adobe Photoshop Elements 7 – Illustrated Series, by Waxer and Tannenbaum, Course Technology, 2009
- Access to a digital camera. The Business Ed. Dept. has eight cameras available to check-out on a day-by-day basis.
- Various handouts from the instructor
- Various digital imaging web sites
COURSE COMPLETION REQUIREMENTS
- Attend class sessions.
- Complete assigned readings.
- Complete and hand in assignments on time. When an assignment is complete, proofread it carefully before turning it in. Assignments should be clearly marked with your name and activity label.
- Complete all theory and skill tests as required.
- Complete any supplemental assessments as directed by the instructor.

- Students must have all the homework for the unit turned in.
- Students must have completed and turned in the review sheet for the unit the day of the initial test
- Students must have shown reasonable effort on the original test.
- Students are allowed one re-take to be completed no later than one week after the original test has been graded and returned.
- Students must show evidence they are prepared to take the test again.
- The student will need to make arrangements with the teacher to take the test. All re-takes must be done after school.
